Hmm, analyzing your "False Test Confidence Syndrome", I'd add this:
Stage 4.5) You read what you've brought to paper and think it's ok, and count points to make sure you do good enough to pass the test.

That's what I'm just doing before finishing the exam... But stage 5 stays the same, of course ;-/

    Anand,

I too bought a radar detector for the same reason as you. Speeding tickets are expensive. I bought the Escort Solo S2. If you're looking for a great detector, this is it. It's cordless and looks sexy to boot. According to radartest.com its performance is superior to even some corded models! I have yet to get a ticket (exception being parking tickets) in the year or so I've owned it. Another plus is that it's about $50 less than the V1 (I'm taking the website price for this) Also, you can hook up the $500 laser jammer to the S2 for even more protection.

Just FYI, V1 is not planning on "fixing" laser warning falses due to brake lights, since it would reduce laser sensitivity.

Got out of my test today and i loooove talking to people only to find out that EVERYONE got something different on most probs...even when some agree on how to work it (-: All we can do now is wait.

On a funny note, everyone also thought it wasn't too hard...

All you need is photographic memory like me, a tape recorder to record your voice while you read and thats all folks.

Re's at the false test taking confidence stuff.. I've done that before and well.. most effective comparison for me == when I took the highschool exit exam..

this particular day was the day of the math test and I was in a HUGE hurry because my mother was waiting at a restaraunt a few blocks away and I didn't want to miss her.

I went through the test and thought it was quite easy, sometimes just taking my brain's quick answers and putting them down as quick as I could, and when I finished not a single person was done (it only took me 20 minutes, according to my teacher the second person didn't leave until about 30 minutes later) --

When I got home and sat back, I thought I would have done horrible and was expecting to get the scores back only saying I'd have to take the test over again since I went through it so easily and lone behold, the scores were almost perfect o_O

So good luck there :D Hopefully you end up with almost perfect scores too :)

Anand, I hear you on the driving bit....I find turning hard much more exhilirating(sp?) than driving fast in a straight line. As for speeding, you're probably right, but that's why, depending on where and when you get pulled over and the type of car you are driving (corvette's are best), you can normally get a warning. :)

hey Anand, I go through the false confidence thing all the time. Just had this e-mag exam, and I'm anticipating something bad...

the speeding thing is the number ONE reason I wan to get out of Virginia as soon as I can (Detectors are illegal here :( )

and Anand, we all like you coz you're wierd :)

I know exactly what you mean about False Test Confidence, I've fallen to it many times.

I wish I could :) I may be able to post some more information if I can get it from a particular source this week, I'm not certain though so don't count on it.

    Take care,
    Anand
